A Glimpse of GB - #2

A Glimpse of GB - #2

A Poem by Patty Neff
"

One of my "celeb" glimpses.

"

The mighty oak that stands before me

is not just like any other tree

It has more character and beauty

than the naked eye can see

Such strength within its solid branches

that even through the worst of storms it could surive

And strangely, it's plush green leaves and sweet wooded smell

seems to be the nourishment which keeps it alive

It's a wonder how it can withstand the trials and tribulations

of natures ways of life that come relentlessly day by day

Comforting itself only with the rustle of it's own leaves

that sounds like a beautiful melody which guides it on its way

Today, tomorrow, and forever

this tree will still be standing grand and tall

which brings such relief in just knowing

that it will be there not just for one but for all

So what is the magic of this mighty oak

why does it seem to be the most beloved of all the trees

In it's simplicity, it reflects parts of ourselves

and how we quite possibly might like to be

The only thing that may cause us to worry

is to think what will hapen throghout the testing of time

With carrying such heavy burdens

one's that I would not have wished to have been mine

I wonder if the oak wouldn't be better off

becoming more vulnerable at times while growing old

It just seems like such a puzzle to think

how it's strength and beauty will be able to uphold

Maybe if willing to sway with a soft and gentle warm breeze

This oak might live life more fulfilled and more satisfied

While keeping it's magnificent qualities

to remain the same, yet become more alive

While no one has the right to say

how life should be for this mighty and magestic tree

I'm just glad to be in it's grand prescence

and will sit in awe of the magnificent design that God inteded it to be
