I'm sorry but....

I'm sorry but....

A Poem by hanzabonanza

Cairo has a beating heart

Beirut a pulse like a bassline

Amman is soulless

Cairenes converse in glorious discord

Beiruties in smooth harmony

in Amman they don’t speak at all

Egyptian women have a voice now

while Lebanese still sing til dawn

here they sleep walk in the day

Cairo is living history

Beirut is liberated by its past

Amman seemingly skims the footnotes

if Cairo is the mother of the earth

Beirut must be the cool sibling

but is Amman is the awkward aunt

no room to move said Cairo

no hours left to party said Beirut

no space to think said Amman

      to breathe

      to sing

      to dance

      to write

Interesting viewpoints of three different cities... three different ways of life. The content and flow held through the whole piece.
I liked it.
