you beautiful creature

you beautiful creature

A Poem by hanzabonanza

sitting at the kitchen table

you scratched your collar bone

absently, looking away

and I wondered

where your curves had ran

still, your beauty remained

the freckle dusted cheeks

cupid’s mouth

and rabbit in headlight eyes

you were warm

striding proud and strong

all through the snowy days

while I was dry and cold

you remained luminous

and in the dark empty nights

I longed to steal silently

into your room

not to be alone again

to curl up beside you

and inhale your heady scent

while hearing the whisper of your dreams

  mine full of you

  yours devoid of me
