unveiled

unveiled

A Poem by hanzabonanza

unaware of your existence

yet always there

from my very beginning

somewhere deep inside

having no purpose

that I can tell of

like belly buttons

or those extra teeth

only cavemen needed

but I couldn’t ignore

your piercing cry

which shook my frame

torn from life

like flimsy silk

you died

in shame, in regret

your funeral cortege

made of crimson tears

down a porcelain slope

your end was in vain

and I cannot halt the sobs

of your troubled ghost

who refuses to leave me

we walk together now

into the dark

scattering memories

into the earth

at my feet

the land laments with us

for the loss

of a girl’s pride

her constellation

shaken from the sky

how will I find my way now

in the empty endless night?
