cloven

cloven

A Poem by hanzabonanza

I was surprised

at the smoothness of your cheeks

when I kissed them

and so I imagined

what it would feel like

to kiss your neck

and the small of your back

there was that magic

sparkling eye moment

again and again all night

as our gazes locked

while we laughed

as if you knew

two strangers

in a strange place

sharing a common thought

as we dined on food

wishing secretly

we could dine on each other

my hands urging to roam

from the plate

after a sea of men

persistent, like parasites

you came

like a lighthouse at night

just when I yearned

for a woman the most

but everything has it place

and we must fit

obediently in ours

the grains of my sand

running thin

our paths diverting away

I pray to fate

to throw its hand again

in the dim future

and be kind on me

that I may kiss

your sweet face again

and as I shut my eyes to sleep

I can still feel the current

pulling me around

let it bring me far far away

back to you
