bereft

bereft

A Poem by hanzabonanza

I run my fingernail

up the inside of your thigh

stopping dangerously close

to your sweet spot

as you hold your breath

yet I pay no heed

to your desperate, pleading eyes

which glitter through the gloom

reflecting the brilliant moon

which rudely peeks at the window

instead I roam south

to where you cannot disguise

the extent of your desires

beginning to introduce you to pleasures

you had deemed impossible before

I can read the shivers and the sighs

the way your hands reach out

to grasp my shoulders

your mouth screaming soundlessly

and feet digging in the bed

I whisper messages to your skin

leaving my mark on you

so it will never forget me

feeling wild and possessive

a demon that lives in your head

and in your bed

we battle with ourselves

tugging and pulling

leaving mouths and limbs sore

hungry and frustrated

with our precious little time

later it seems an abomination

to cover up the flesh

that we had consumed

so carelessly

feeding our souls

and slip on the costumes

that we must wear outside

in our daytime life

and bury the knowledge

I have gathered of you

the truth that tonight

you had smiled more times

than ever before

and had been so free that

your heart glowed

through your chest

already now

it is beginning to grow heavy again

and as we say our goodbyes

you stand in your nightdress at the door

the smile is now wooden on your face
