meanderA Poem by hanzabonanzamy body has become soft like an opening petal as I float under the surface of the river which is like a smashed mirror showing a fragmented version of me I reach out to touch it but withdraw unwilling to be drawn back into the earthly dimension where I will dry out like a dolphin I strain my ears to interpret the warped sound where each bubble conceals a hidden message I swim on hungrily with the soothing current which carries me far downstream fish brushing past my skin curious at this alien invader the water is dark, almost black even though blocking out sunlight it is not oppressive in fact, it aids the passage into this alternate world I imagine reaching the ocean the salt water a shock at first burning my tired body and being washed on the rocky beach like a piece of drift-wood so eventually I slide out of my watery den where time is unable to govern and walk happily back home like I have a new soul inside me © 2011 hanzabonanzaReviews
