lover's block

lover's block

A Poem by hanzabonanza

why is it I ask,

I have been unable to

condemn you to paper

when for every other one

sentences were formulated

in that very moment

the words pouring

out from my fingers

are you not worthy of

an eternal immortalization

that I may look back

and remember it all

is it because it would not be in

sadness or regret

but ambivalence instead

perhaps not enough

passionate anger and longing

to fuel a few stanzas

the poetic inspiration

only welling up from

satisfaction in being unsatisfied

pining for something

that can never

and will never be had

so I reside to the fact that

however hard I struggle

I cannot make art

out of something

that does not burn me inside

I love that last stanza , a prequisite for true art , art from the soul dancing in the flames of inspiration .
