in the deafening void

in the deafening void

A Poem by hanzabonanza

you scratch your neck

whilst you sleep

perhaps trying to rub out

any trace of my kisses

or pull off

your ever tightening noose

fruitlessly, I try

to infer the real truth

from those silky words

that you had whispered

during our lover’s limbo

all gone now

in the same bed

that I had dreamt of you

you now lie

as if you had become

part of the dream itself

but me, paralyzed, awake

we part ways

the next day

and the next

you are still silent

but no longer sleeping

all the time replaying

replaying

stuck in the web we’ve made

and I’m left here alone

waiting to hear you voice again
