A Poem by hanzabonanza

later, after walking back

having laid the cards

on the table so calmly

but fragmented beneath

I remember spying a Mcdonalds

cup, thrown on the cold pavement

spilling tea into the cracks

almost comical

our beginning and end

thrown together

in that heartbreaking moment

and it made me remember

how to smile again
