ungrounded

ungrounded

A Poem by hanzabonanza

do I doubt

that if you came back now

fresh-faced like before

into my life

I’d be ruined again?

if you finally

worked it all out

and read between the lines

offering not ambiguity

but beautiful lucid gestures

would it kill me

to finally experience reality

never coping rationally

when you withheld

but floating in fantasy

I guess my heart would stop

rather love from afar

then face the grim

tarnished truth

that you could not live

up to my dream
