Song II

Song II

A Poem by hanzabonanza

when I was barely

opening my new eyes

lifting head off cold floor

and discovering curves

on a girlish womanly body

and of others

you gave your siren call

unlike mine

your eyes were alive

bright green almonds

that held my gaze

unfalteringly

but a olive skin

we both shared

yours peppered with freckles

both hair curly and dark

yours short

mine long

but you stood tall, proud

while I was still learning

how to hold myself

upright to the world

you dreamed in melody

tunes setting toes tapping

notes that made fire

and skin shiver

blissfully

spooning me

my first delightful taste

of lust and desire

a spiky concoction

which burned my mouth

leaving me gasping and thirsty

unable to decide

which was more beautiful

more perfect

the violins you lovingly pawed

or the splendor of your body

realising I wanted you

when I spied your portrait

on the wall

you, naked from behind

making your violin sing

and my heart flutter

the ‘f’ curves from the instrument

painted on the curve of your back

a nod to Man Ray

one dark sensuous day

when one locks the door

firmly shut on the outside

we lost ourselves in music

an old dusty record

you fished out with smooth hands

the vinyl disk beginning to spin

round and round

it was a song of latin rhythms

with gypsy infused melodies

you started to move

holding out your arms

in a way I had never seen before

an invisible wave

moving down your body

hips of rippling flicks

in time with the beat

a different wave

was passing through me

a solitary finger beckoned

and so I came to you

like a drugged zombie

til in each others arms

dancing together

alone in your secret cult

we were reborn

time slowed

and I felt your chest rise

air entering lungs

your lips dangerously close

and eyes on mine

the earth seemed to shift a gear

we were sharing one thought

and in an instance

brought it to life

as the record slowed down

the strains of music fading

you pressed them against mine

hot, dark lips

which could steal the day

and kissed into me

a spark that I carry

forever
