boots, keep walking

boots, keep walking

A Poem by hanzabonanza

as long as you keep giving me

that delicious fiery belly flicker

when you raise your eyes

twist your lips

wound me with spiky words

hold my gaze

I shall be afloat

on a sea of inspiration

with gushing waterfalls of words

and whispering brooks of desire

it’s true, I am always water

fluid, able to be manipulated

too emotional

you are earth

full of life and hope

with a sensibility that focuses me

but you never let me wash you away

so strong, powerful

more wise than I’ll ever be

foolish girl

playing the same game again

imaging a whole other life

forgetting the one I have here

I’m good at that, aren’t I?

running away from it all

but when life gets me down

the choices are slim

sink in the lie of a life I’m living

or consumed by the one I want to have

it’s easier to pretend instead then

we could be lovers

in an old town house in the souk

where you are a successful journalist

and I write novels

finally learning how to make baklava

I can almost feel the summer heat

but it’s november, raining

in a small corner of England

12.45 at night, on my own and

tired, but knowing I won’t sleep

because of you

     it’s always about you

deeply affecting through its wondrous word choice to examine both the beauty lure and the heartache within~

I like this piece, there are minor flow problems. Try reading your work aloud, it helps you find the small glitches in fow. KKeep writing, you have a gift.
