Little Hope

Little Hope

A Poem by hanzabonanza

little hope raises wings to sunlight,

in the heady morning unfurling, waking

shakes feathers and stretches back

and remembers what it is to live

little hope opens beak wide

to take in warm air once again

the dreams melt away to daytime

the horrors of the night lie behind

a little hope you gave me in my limbo

when alone, for once without an idol

you came, so strange and unknowing

a glimmer of possibility, a maybe to cling to

a little hope I will retain

to hold my tired body through the night

when all seems lost, little hope remains

to let me know I can love again

There is a stunning beauty here that lies within the depth of darkness.. that glimmer of light at the break of dawn... I need that little hope renewed in me.. Thanks for sharing this poetic light..
