A Dangerous Game

A Dangerous Game

A Poem by hanzabonanza
"

Under the pen-name Alexander Virakov...sort of unfinished :p

"

Her life is a tightrope

A balancing act

Between Danger and Safety

Not like the other

Kids

With their unspoken, but still present

Dependency

On their parents

Sleeps with the light off

And walks to school

On her own

It’s that rush

That sets her spine

Tingling

Rattles every bone

Inside her

And she loves it

She revels in her

Obsession

Watching it slowly

Take over her

Walking over bridges

She contemplates

Jumping

Just to see what it would

Feel like

Or throwing her lunch box

Out of the window

To see the way it falls

Til him

It was just a game

Til him

She thought she was

In control

He is a monster

She knew when he

Looked at her

She was doomed

A lethal prize

A challenge she could not

Resist

Like a moth to a flame

She is drawn to him

He screams danger

Yet she is deaf

Written all over his face

But she only sees

His eyes

Possessing her

She waits for him

The last cake on a plate

You know you shouldn’t have it

But you take it anyway

The pure white softness

Of her icing melts

Against his

Dirty

Greedy

Hungry

Lips

Her sweetness consuming him

Breaking her

Changing her

Taking all the good she offers

And eating it whole

For the first time she is scared

It doesn’t seem so fun anymore

She flails in the monsters arms

Like a fly

Entombed

 In a spiders web
