Homecoming Part I

Homecoming Part I

A Poem by hanzabonanza
"

Under the pen-name Mina Hyatt

"

At the end of the day

In the limbo between light and dark

When the sun bleeds all over the sky

A painful tortured red

She feels the night move

Stirring the birds up into the crisp cold air

Her senses like theirs are heightened

And then she hears it

A whisper of sadness

The breeze like your breath

Touching her skin

Somewhere faraway from here

You are thinking of her

Such a pleasing unsettling moment

As she feels your thoughts like eyes

Resting down like a weight

Time is etched all over her body

The days counted in her mind

Like the walls of a jail

Too long you have been gone

Too long you have been hurting

She tries to answer your thoughts

With hers

But you cannot hear her

Perhaps she will sit out in the garden

In this sparkling night

And sing to you instead

If the melody jarrs

It is only because you are not here

The legato to her staccato

The cadence is imperfect without you

I know how it consumes too

The empty days and nights

No sleep no rest no one to hold

Nothing but the deafning silence

Everything blurring into one

But don't succumb to the lonliness

And heartbreak

She has her own heart to give you

Without you it has no use

And lays a pulpy red mass

Still moving in her hands

She laughs a hollow tuneless laugh

And the empty void wheezes

Perfect Valentine?

I think not

We are all darker than that

You’re so bad

But it was only for you

Come home to her

Like the sea returns to the land

And yearns for the shore

She yearns for you

Drowning in oceans of tears

But are you lost at sea too?

Falling beneath the blue black waves

As the seaweed reaches out

To embrace your tired body

Your face so pale and ghostly

In the icy water

But there were too many negatives

For one sentence to hold

It’s not certain when

And she was sick to the stomach

We can’t give a timescale

All her hope fell off a cliff

Depression, Illness, Bereavement

She told me she would cure you

But she can only do that

If you return to her

Where you belong

She casts her mind back

To when you were still here

I am still waiting for it

She laughed, walking out of the room

It seemed you wanted to say something

But now instead it is you

She waits for
