Body Language

Body Language

A Poem by hanzabonanza
"

Under pen-name Eva Duval

"

When is that moment

When the switch is lifted

And then tension explodes

Crackling

Bursting

Into life

These signals that are given off

Could speak a thousand words

And yet all it takes is a

Smile

Look

Turn

At that perfect moment

Sometimes not even realising its happening;

Like when you bite your lips

Or that melody of your voice

I’m intoxicated

Drunk on the things you do

Other times I am

Conscious

Of my need to be noticed;

Laughing at your jokes

I make my eyes

Shine like diamonds

Drawing you in

Begging you to want me

We judge our words

On the language of the body

Whispering its secrets to us

One move too soon

Could spoil everything

The body leads us on

A treasure hunt of love

Or is it just friendship?

Perhaps these nerve endings

Ensnare me

Fooling my brain to things which

Do not exist

Wildly

I stumble on

Layering my words with messages

That I hope you can decode

Trying to tell you

With the way I walk

Or how my hands move

Dancing

Through the air

All it takes is one look

Seems so obvious to me

Yet you hide your face away

So I cannot see it

Who can say

When the game is up

And my body betrays its intent

Will you stay quiet

Knowing all the while

Your silence is a

Knife

Through me

Or will you turn

And give me that secret smile

Once more
