nearly full moonA Poem by hanzabonanzawe picked each other out instinctively through the glass boxes and exhibits a whip-crack laugh and a staggering pause to set things tumbling we shifted the others uncomfortably rolling them away behind dinosaurs the swirl all around faded you and me at the eye of the storm and you kept on pouring and I kept on drinking up until the group diminished then the next hurdle and the next us, running faster and faster our breathing thundering heavy time- our enemy plunging us through tunnels, and dark endless roads street lamps illuminating your face til I’m standing in the blue night of your garden the moon, staining our bare skin, stared on at us like at how we embraced in the car- my voice shaky as your hands drew me in by my chin fingers painting lines across my chest and dancing under my blood red dress and now you’re pushing me against the wall as I so sweetly requested and then the sofa and then the door and then the bed and you’re whispering in my ear and I’m replying: yes yes yes looking up at you I attempt to tip the balance but under your strong wrist grasp I go nowhere and everywhere all at once til later it is you who is making requests and then I have you by the back of your neck before your lips can even make out the first ragged word the look in your eyes begging: ‘please’ © 2015 hanzabonanza |
