India

India

A Poem by hanzabonanza

I dreamt about taking

you to India

the summer sun

burning behind

your hair

with your soft hands

you pointed

out old memories

glittering

behind the years

walking paths

you had once

tread while I had

been somewhere else

jumping skipping

ropes and fantasies

but now fully grown

beside you

your free hand pulling

me close

safe from the crowd

and the chaos

later on a boat

floating at midnight

towards an island

your face reflected

a thousand candles

bouncing shards

of light

afterwards those same hands

feeding me the

sweetest fruits

unknown flavours

dancing on my tongue

and teeth

you slept so honestly

those palms outstretched

brow unfurrowed

a hint on your lips

of the smile

that never left your

face all day
