moon and sun

moon and sun

A Poem by hanzabonanza

your necklace

rests against my skin

the same spot

you kissed last night

my fingers close

tight around it

as the train tosses

me far away from you

in the window

I look back at myself

my image distorted

and incomplete

even at the briefest

goodbyes

I weep like a child

every time

the parting

dismantles something

inside

that you take with you

my girl

my moon

without you

the sun burns alone

yet like the moon

you always return

bringing tides of kisses

under a starry sky

until then

I carry your pearl

pressed fast

to my body

another light

to fill the lonely nights

when the sun

is furthest from the sky

it glitters

like you did

when you looked

at me yesterday

the moon and the sun

reflecting burning desire

in each other’s eyes

scattering it into the night air

I’m holding you

even now

miles away

shine on precious one

shine on
