precipice

precipice

A Poem by hanzabonanza

press your thumbs

to my eyes

shut fast

the outside world

til voices fade

into water

scatter buttons

on the floor

they hit like glass

thousands of pearl

tears

shuddering as

riptide unfolds

I pull the hair

at the nape

like a whip

around curled fingers

back to back

how far the curve

goes into bliss

syncopation

kisses

made of hands

and lips

see how practiced

my rhythm is

the fury

of the night is absolute

like full moon

or the wolf

hungry

and unforgiving

bubble up

sweet blood

rejoicing

as one

my heart

laughs relentless

and dark

crumble earth

under my flesh

to make

my bed

sleep now

and forever

in wedded bliss

while hot water

tumbles

let me fall

to forgive

wash me

clean

dawn is breaking

bare

unknowing

the sky splinters

birds crying

secret songs

I try to follow

so hard

again and again

my voice

a shadow

shaping their melody

like new wings
