ascension

ascension

A Poem by hanzabonanza

there is a rhythm

to the space between

our kisses

like raindrops

on new earth

outside spring

is beginning

and in my room

roses open under

my fingertips

we shrug off

night like clothes

making room

for daylight

on our skin

worship the ripples

on your brow

hungry waves

open mouth

for the incoming tide

awaking to new songs

that have yet to be

sung

your melody on my lips

my voice rising

the proud lion

marking the vast

plains of your neck

as my own

swiping greedy tongue

and so becoming

an endless arc

shaking into infinity

from your spine

to your sighs

in one unbroken line

Not bad. You've written well and used some very good imagery here, and while the subject matter is definitely overdone, you've managed to keep things interesting and keep the stakes high. Well done.
