colour me in

colour me in

A Poem by hanzabonanza

I love the hours before

the heady anticipation

the night looking on, bemused

a dancer before curtain call

I ready myself for you

from top to toe

spread my dress out

on the bed with shoes, tights

and underwear

my second self

waving back

needing to feel wanted

life’s greatest dilemma

this bracelet or that?

I hover over both, unsure

dress my neck in perfume

an x to mark the spot

of awaiting treasures

and cocoa butter

slides through my fingers

and down my thighs indulgently

yet the hand on the brush

filling my line drawing

with splashes of colour is your’s

an unfinished masterpiece

the paint still drying

together creating something sublime
