where do we go now?

where do we go now?

A Poem by hanzabonanza

your eyes widen

electric shock blue

mouth shaping

a small ‘o’

the bolt passes

through me too

feeling

its been too long

fear engulfs us

your cervine heart

racing away

out of the room

there’s cinnamon

on your mouth

and honey pressed

on my palms

and you taste inhuman

unreal

your soul on your lips

its the price we paid

the silk ribbon

at the nape of your neck

is undone

like us

no one told you

to look in the mirror

so you passed through

life, unaware

later on the bridge

you take off my hat

my curls tumbling

and you just stare

did you feel

the shifting sands

trying to hold the moment

in your gaze

come back round

the revolving door

after me

I haven’t finished yet

now you pour

the cinnamon and honey

into your cakes

unable to sleep at night
