run run robin

run run robin

A Poem by hanzabonanza

feel the curves of the handles

grooves made to fit me alone

soft intake of breath

my heart chirping

in happy anticipation

I swing my legs over the bar

to sit on the awaiting saddle

one foot rests on the pedal

the other on the floor

ready to push off

and fly away

the road is clear

and I’m ready too

legs starting their motion

into subconscious equilibrium

up and down

round and round

into infinity

picking up speed

I am swimming

down the road

on two wheels

the houses and gardens

waving past

til they blur together

the cold air slides over my skin

and feels delicious

as I lick my lips

and there is nothing

like this feeling

of being powered

by my body and gravity alone

best of all

free-falling

more than just freewheeling

down a steep hill

laughing deliriously

daring to leave the brakes off

my stomach left behind

the cars bewildered

I want to go now

and ride away

to somewhere new

that I’ve never been before

and find myself there

in the middle of nowhere

Amazing structure and very atmospheric. Now you just need to construct a sequel that involves a nice thunderstorm! ;)
