A Poem by hanzabonanza

the ocean was lonely

from its inky black depths

to the foamy crashing shores

it was too deep

had seen too much

yet there was still things

hidden away

no one could reach

secrets

lost

deliberately or not

in the night

it calmed

under watchful stars

telling the lighthouse

to call out

for somebody

from land’s salvation

the next day

the earth did respond

of a sort

two people

jumped from a ship

falling into its watery arms

they went

knowing what lay ahead

turning their back on

that well-trodden path behind

arms reaching out

faces calm

but too curious

they and the water

are one now

following strong currents

sucked deliciously under

down

down

to an unexplored place

and when the sea is done

bored of its teasing

wanting another distraction

or to just be alone again

it will wash them up

on the shore

they will look at each other

as strangers

changed beyond recognition

something vital missing

the sea claiming it

as its own
