Chapter Twenty One

     Magda was sleeping. She felt like she lost track of time. There was a soft light that urged her to open her eyes. She could hear Dana whimpering and unusual chattering.

     She opened her eyes. There was bright light surrounding her. Hands with long fingers hovered around her body with shiny tools. Magda to try to move but she couldn’t.

     “Dana?” Magda called out. She tried to look, but the light was blinding her.

     The strange hands waved over her eyes and she fell asleep. She woke up again and she was lying on the on the ground. Magda sat up and her friends were there.

     “What happened?” asked Magda.

     “What do you mean?” asked Trent.

     “We fell asleep?” said Max. “Was there something else going on?”

     “Officer Gabiola is gone,” said Magda.

     Dana was sitting on the ground. Tears rolled down her cheeks.

     “Dana, what’s wrong?” Trent asked.

     She shook her head. Trent touched her shoulder and she backed away.

     “Don’t touch me!” Dennis shouted.

     “Maybe they found their way out,” said Max.

     “What happened last night?” asked Trent.

     Magda kneeled beside Dana, “did you see aliens?”

     Max snorted “What?”

     Dana’s eyes widened and horror,” That really happened?”

     “No!” Max yelled. “You shut up! We were just sleeping. We’ve been lost for who knows how long. We do not need you scaring us!”

     “You don’t need to be yelling!” yelled Trent.

     “You both need to stop,” Magda said. “We need to get out of here.”

     “Two people we met disappeared,” said Dana.” What if we are next?”

     “You’re freaking out for no reason,” said Max. “Let’s start looking for the center. We might run into them.”

     They began to search for the center. As they walked the called out for John and Officer Gabiola, but that there was not a response. Their quest was starting to look hopeless.
