Chapter NineteenA Chapter by Jennifer They made it back to Warren’s home in the
afternoon. The corn maze was still there. Warren felt an unusual energy
radiating from the field. Warren shivered and muttered under his breath.
Schneider arrived and parked behind them. They walked to the corn maze. “I’m not sure this is a good idea,” said
Warner. “I have a bad feeling.” “I can go in there,” said Schneider. “No,” said Warren. “You don’t understand.” “We have to do something,” said Gabiola. Schneider shook his head,” well, I’m tired
of messing with some maze. We already looked here.” “Okay, I will go in and look,” said Gabiola.
“Maybe, there is something that we that we overlooked.” “Don’t say it and warn you,” said Warren. Schneider shrugged, “We’ll stay here.” Gabiola left them behind and entered the corn
maze. He walked through the eerily quiet maze. A few minutes passed and he did
not find anything. Gabiola walked back to the entrance where Schneider and
Warren waited for him. “I’m not finding anything,” he told them.
They stood there as though they did not hear him. “Hello?” Gabiola waved at them. Neither of them
waved back. He walked closer to them. They did not look in his direction. “Schneider,” he called out. Schneider didn’t
acknowledge him. “Hello?” Instead, he heard people screaming inside
the field. The voices were screaming for help. He went back into the maze and
began running towards the voices. “We’re here!” One of the voices screamed. He found a group of teenagers running
around a corner. One of them sighed with relief. “You know how to get out of here?” one
asked. “I’m not sure,” Gabiola said. “I didn’t
even think I would find you here. We looked everywhere in this maze.” “That’s great,” another said. “So, now we’re
all stuck in here.” “Is there anyone else here?” Gabiola asked.
“What are your names?” “I’m Trent,” said Trent. “That’s Magda,
that’s Dana, and this is Max. Who are you?” “How did you figure out how to look here?”
Max asked. “I’m officer Gabiola,” he said. “The owner
of this property was also trapped in here. He escaped, but he believes that he
exited through the middle of this maze.” “We’ve been to the center,” said Dana. “To
answer your question, there are others here.” “Yeah, where did John go?” Trent looked
behind them. “We need out of here,” said Dana. “I think
there’s a murderer here. What if we run into him again?” “You’ll be safe with me,” said Gabiola. “What if John is the murderer?” asked Max. “He would’ve killed us,” Trent muttered. “Let’s go see if John is still over there,”
said Magda. “I don’t want him to be trapped here.” They all walked around the corner and nobody
was there. The teens scratched their head. “So, what are you going to do now that you
are stuck in here?” asked Trent. “Probably start with looking for the
center of this maze?” Gabiola suggested. “What makes you think we didn’t try that?”
asked Max. “I’m not saying that you didn’t,” he said.
“The owner of this land is outside.” “Did we get into some kind of wormhole?”
Max asked. “What else do you know?” “I’m not sure if this is a wormhole,” Gabiola
said. “When we were searching for you, we found out that this maze is a crop
circle.” Dana gasped, “So, we’re going to get
objected?” Trent shook his head, “This is too unreal.” “Whatever this place is, we need to get
out,” said Max. “Let’s head to the center.” The began to walk through the maze
to find the center. © 2022 Jennifer |
