Chapter Twenty - Seven

Back when America was attacked by North Korea shock waves radiated the world. At first global leaders backed off. There was no way anyone was getting involved with a situation that boiled over between America and North Korea.

The world could see what was happening. President Wolfe visited North Korea prior to the nuclear attack and made a deal with Joowon Yoon. Yoon promised to remove all nuclear weapons and cease all testing of weapons. After Wolfe left, the nuclear testing continued. As the testing came closer to America Wolfe grew agitated. Instead of communicating internally with Yoon he took to social media.

Wolfe: You have broken your deal with us by continuing your testing. You should not have dropped bombs near us. Our troops will be paying you a visit soon.

The press conference that America missed was regarding the nuclear testing close to American territory. The only ones who could see it were the people who were there at the conference. Then on the following day North Korea dropped nuclear bombs on American soil.

After the world saw all of the news reports and the message on social media, fear lingered that North Korea may attack them as well. The concern grew when they realized that the radiation in America could spread to their country.

A price had to be paid for the attack and the lost lives. A price had to be paid for the illness and death from radiation poisoning. A price had to be paid for the radiation spreading to other countries due to the actions of North Korea.

Rage and fear escalated after the Americans attempted to retaliate. Canada was the first to join forces with America after the attack. They sent their fighter jets to North Korea. As they flew over the sea, there was a strange, loud noise and they lost communication.

The troops were sent on their final mission. America and Canada was not entirely sure what happened. They sent off carriers to locate the pilots and planes. When they entered the zone where they lost contact they saw marine life floating on top of the water across the entire ocean.

The news was sent to America that the sea was full of dead fish, dolphins, whales, and sharks. News soon surfaced that dead fish had floated up onto the shores of Japan. Dead Sea life floated to the shores around the world and caused devastation to fishers.

The United Nations called upon world leaders. Wolfe’s arrogance evidently never faltered from the cruel actions of North Korea. He was still eager and hungry for war.

“We will make a bigger and better weapon to strike back with,” said Wolfe. Everyone in the room began to shout at him.

“No!” yelled Beaulieu. “You need to stop! North Korea clearly has something up their sleeve. People have underestimated them and we have to first focus on rebuilding.”

Dai Satu looked at Wolfe, “Whatever it was they used killed your pilots and all of the marine life. It clearly doesn’t matter to you, but that attack destroyed what many depend on and what the economy depends on.”

“More reason to strike back,” said Wolfe.

“Don’t you care about your citizens or the world?” asked Beaulieu.

“Clearly, he could care less,” said Satu. “Since Wolfe’s primary concern is money I would suggest breaking all ties with him and stop trading with the United States. Maybe, President Wolfe, you will have a better understanding of how your money circulates.”

While some people chuckled others muttered in anger. As the room buzzed with argument a gavel pounded in the background to regain order. The meeting was soon adjourned with a resolution to ban Wolfe from social media.

Impeachment floated everywhere online in the form of a petition. All Wolfe did was vanishing out of sight and refused to rebuild his country as he told Americans how greedy and lazy they were.

People could only recover slowly. Many rights were revoked so American citizens could not speak up or make any changes for the better. Nobody could speak negative about the president. Petitions were outlawed. Protestors faced imprisonment or death.

As the country struggled, Wolfe somehow remained president. Other countries stayed out of Wolfe’s fight. Nobody wanted to come to the aid of America.
