Chief Bear Hunter

 Chief Bear Hunter, there is hardly any information about him. He knew Peter Maughan and a majority of negotiations went on between the two to keep peace with the Shoshone. 

   There are no pictures of him. If there are I have not seen them. There are rumors on how he died during the Bear River Massacre. One story tells that he was killed while making weapons. As far as I understand, he was tortured to death. I had read once that soldiers had ran a sword through his ears.

   It is believed that he is the one that staged all of the raids against the emigrants and the Pony Express.

   Lt. Connor was sent to battle against Chief Bear Hunter. This battle turned into a massacre of 490 Shoshone. Bear Hunter did not escape the attack, he was murdered.
