Not JustifiedA Chapter by JenniferThe bullying.Bullying has been in existence for a long time. Most people believe that it is justified because bullying has always existed. People say that if you ignore the bully, it will go away. This is a lie. I think that someone is a wishful thinker if they believe that eventually the bully grows up. Years after I graduated high school, I ran into an old classmate online. I was never aware of the mere presence of this individual going to school. Obviously, he knew who I was. He feigned being friendly and pretended to show interest in me. Then he turned around and started calling me cry baby. I should have pressed charges on him for harrassment. I only blocked him and reported him for abuse. I feel sorry for for anyone who is bullied in the society today because it is three times worse than what it used to be. Back when I was going to school, we were not using social media. If anyone had a walkman or a beeper, it was confiscated. Today, people are filming incidents on their cell phone and posting online for the WHOLE WORLD to see. That is how screwed up society is. We never stopped it and the bullying grew into a giant, invincible monster. Ever since pre-school, people called me names. I always went to a teacher because I wanted it to stop. Nothing was done except for, "If you ignore them, they will go away." That I did. Instead of stopping, they got louder or resorted to assualting me. When I was leaving school, bullies were there. When I was on lunch, there were the bullies. It did not matter if I was in class or at a different school, I was bullied. Since I tried to avoid everyone at Borah High School, I did not experience bullying from students. The bullying was in Emmett. I was bullied at Butte View Elementary, Emmett Middle School, and Emmett High School. I lived up the road from Butte View. The bullies lived down the same road. When I was leaving school for the day, they were there waiting for me in the field next to the gate. They would trip me or grab my backpack to make it impossible to avoid conflict. They even ripped a doll out of my hands and ripped it in half. My parents became irritated with needing to replace everything the children were destroying. They called the local authorities. The police watched the area for any further bullying. I honestly believe that the police went to the parents of the bullies and told them about the issue. This made it easier for them to side with the bully. They were not laying a finger on me when the police were watching the area. Of course, being a kid, I gloated about the police watching the area. Teachers or students never did anything to stop it; the police would. I mentioned that if they touched me, they were in trouble. The Emmett police took it as me instigating the situation. The cops notified my parents and gave them false information that I instigate the bullying and that they were done watching. I never instigated bullying nor is abusing someone else okay. Even if I was instigating it, they should not be bothering me. I wish I would have been able to press charges on the bullies for assault and battery because that was what it was. I only learned that this negative behaviour is okay and it turned me into a bully. My teacher Ms. Inlow spoke about needing to stop when someone tells you to. If you do not stop, it is abuse. If you are ticking someone and they are saying top, you stop. If they are crying because you did not stop, you are being a bully. I always said stop. I yelled stop. I screamed stop. When I wept, I was drugged. © 2013 JenniferFeatured Review
