Masquerade Ball

Masquerade Ball

A Poem by Amelie Poulain
"

A flourish of colorful gowns...

"

The evening begins,

When the mask is put on.

The ball begins,

When they arrive.

Dressed in gowns of silk,

Sparkling diamonds suround their necks.

Their masks can hide,

The secrets untold,

From everyone they see.

Only when they reveal themselves,

They are who they want to be.

An identity unknown to all,

Who never lets down her guard.

The secrets trapped,

Behind her mask, Never can be found.
