I Am From...

I Am From...

A Poem by JustJordan. x3
"

In poetry class we had to mimic a poem from an author by the name of George Ella Lyon.

"

I am from flowers and petals

found in the warm shine breeze.

I am from a diary full of memories,

or a box full of the past,

maybe even pictures that could never be replaced.

I am from a now passed away grandfather

that I loved with every inch of my heart

I am from a pet cat that I’ll never forget

            named Floyd.

I am from a past where trust is key,

and not everyone not everyone will be your best friend,

where you go hard, or go home.

I am from a night full of smiles and laughter in one house

            and endless arguments in another.

I am from the dishes of mashed potatoes I took in,

and the bowls of different soup.

I am from the start of the ABC’s which lead,

to the tone every song that I dance to own my own.

I am from a smell as faint as my grandmother’s perfume,

to as strong as fresh baked cookies.
I am from the task that I complete daily,

to the loving of people that don’t love me back.

I am from my parents arms,

to the castle in my backyard.

I am from a lifetime of dancing.

I am from a person of trust, love for everyone, and hope for a better future.
