tangerine reality

tangerine reality

A Poem by Merryweather Honeyfoot

i span the length of reality and nihilism

from middle finger to middle finger.

a fire burns on the lake

with no water wet enough to temper it.

flames of dark tangerine and scarlet

swallow me whole, cinch my skin

and devour my insides.

no death.

will this end soon? i wonder.

how much longer could it last?

no sleep.

but a dream of insanity.

normalcy.
