Sidewalk Chalk and Picnics

Sidewalk Chalk and Picnics

A Poem by Miss Fox
"

I know love poems are annoying, but I really do love this kid.

"
With berry-stained lips,
and sun-warmed skin
In a summer-induced drunkenness
we act like children.
Chalk dust coats our fingers
and you keep winning at tickle fights
and I can't stop smiling.

Our playful graffiti announces our love
and expresses your preference of drawing dinosaurs.
I show you my paper dolls
and you kiss me.

Sometimes I wish we could stay this innocent forever-
shutting our minds off and letting our inner children come out for adventures,
telling stories and not worrying about the world around us...

But growing up with you will be the greatest adventure I ever take.

This is beautiful. This made me all warm and fuzzy inside, if you can believe that. I kept smiling through the whole thing.

I'm trying not to sound biased here. This was great.
