Generation X

Generation X

A Poem by Maestro of the words

Generation X

I don’t know what kind of world this is

I just know that it’s twisted.

Can we forget about the celebrities and who wore it best for a minute

Lets talk about problems that actually plague  this world

and that lack of rights lead  us to the land of turmoil

I’m the generation  new  that’s soon to be old

We’ll have to sit back and watch this hell storm unfold.

Generation cure, generation make things better.

Generation fix whats in the newspaper, rearrange all these letters.

Expect us to do better with these problems being ample.

Like Parent to their kid you’re supposed to set an example.

Can no one understand that we’re all meant to be equal?

Until that’s understood we’ll just be Generation Sequel

America the brave, please just save it

Our streets are made with gold, but we just forgot to pave it

Tell me how we’re free when it’s our own people we despise.

Can’t slip the ring upon his finger because the fact that they’re both guys.

Preach to me that it’s the woman’s fault

clothes being the cause and rape the result.

To get back in the kitchen, stop with my silly wishes

keep my mouth shut, look pretty, wash these dishes.

It’s okay to shoot a kid, If you’re just playing police.

Unnecessary action changing present to deceased

Tell everyone he scared you had you shaking at the knees.

Have the courts cast you off under the word released.

Tell me I don’t understand because of my age.

Cover my eyes, make me blind to this rage.

I cant possibly comprehend what they did

I have no right to opinion because I’m a kid.

No opinion, right? Until I reach that stage

where you send me off, push me out of this cage.

Then expect me to know what this is all about

To somehow decipher these words straighten everything out

But you’re never too young to see the pain in others

Never too deaf to hear the gunshots of gunners

Must always keep inside the views of society this social science

Well call me an outcast a freak for my defiance

I’m part of a new generation, a story yet to be told

Generation new that’s soon to be old.

Generation next, and hopefully at this rate

Human rights for everyone shouldn't be a debate
