Dinner For Two

Dinner For Two

A Poem by missangell

A millionaire's dinner
Pass me that wine
Red will be fine
Three rose glasses later
He walks in with a stagger
They all sit diligently
Profoundness expected to leak from his lips
His soul drips from his nose
Seeping into his moustache
His eyes pier into me sharply
Looking for clues
Does he realize?
I admired him greatly
Domineering poetics
Spit from his mouth
Tell me a story
Tell me what you see
Will I go or will I stay?
Is this business or is it play?
Infatuation from a distance
The others in between us
Paralyzed and listless
Liars tiptoe beneath him
That right hand man is making pacts with the devil
Take notice and listen to me
I hold myself high in my thoughts and in my dreams
I will sacrifice all
In an idealistic rage
Call me a spoiled child
Call me egotistical and vile
I carry my heart in my hand
For everything, I will stand
The strong grab the bread and leave
The weak eat the cake and believe
