What Lies Beneath

What Lies Beneath

A Poem by Amy

Beneath us all,

is a little place that some of us like to call hell.

Does it even exist?

Who knows.

It’s where all the “bad” people go.

Define bad,

honestly.

Beneath us all,

is gravity.

Pulling us closer,

attaching us to the ground,

Do we even realize this?

As long as we’re safe and sound,

right?

Beneath us all,

are bodies,

buried six feet under,

disintegrated underground,

locked in a casket,

rotting.

Did you forget what lies beneath?

Or are we already going under?
