I see your silver blade, it shines under the halogen light. I feel my eyes flutter, as I fall in and out of sleep, knowing that the drugs have already started to kick in. I hear muffled voices discuss the first incision, which artery to avoid, the duration of the surgery. I hear a loud blast of water, the doctor is washing his hands. I hear the thud of the gloves against his skin, as he lathers up with iodine, before he begins, “Amy can you hear me?” My body is frozen. I’m out. © 2008 AmyFeatured Review
