Under the Knife

Under the Knife

A Poem by Amy
"

I've never had surgery before (knock on wood) but I think this is what it feels like

"

I see your silver blade,

it shines under the halogen light.

I feel my eyes flutter,

as I fall in and out of sleep,

knowing that the drugs have already started to kick in.

I hear muffled voices discuss the first incision,

which artery to avoid,

the duration of the surgery.

I hear a loud blast of water,

the doctor is washing his hands.

I hear the thud of the gloves against his skin,

as he lathers up with iodine,

before he begins,

“Amy can you hear me?”

My body is frozen.

I’m out.

Since this is my specialty..yes
I tell my friends..she is so special..
every stoke of knife ..I want it to be so gentle..like a tickle
never hurt..cut only as far..always take care
her life means lots to me..i will be be ever so genle with care
she means a lot to me..
my hands may shake..but as i care..they are ever steady
so do not worry i will safeguard your safety..all through
till the end..till you wake..eyes smile to me
like coming from a sweet dream..
you safe ..in my hands..dear lovely poet
ha ha..just like for real..i really imagined you between my hands
my golden fingers..ha ha

""Amy can you hear me?"

My body is frozen.

I'm out." --- okay, that's f*****g creepy, hahaha.
Yeah, me either love, never had to under go the knife before, man. I dont know how that would feel, but I think you did a good job at capturing the moment. I would have described it the same way! x

Haha surgery is sorta like that.

I had knee surgery about two months ago. Now I didn't hear the doctor's dicuss how they were going to cut my open, but I saw him wash his hands. lol

Anyways, I liked the poem. Very good job.

Always,
