And Then You Wont

And Then You Wont

A Poem by Amy

Here’s to all the times I’ve thought about you more than myself,

to all the sleepless nights,

and times that I’ve cried over you.

Here’s to all the times that I was stupid enough to go off with you,

forcing myself to believe that you actually gave a damn about me,

meanwhile you only wanted to see me because you were bored and had no one else.

Here’s to all the times that we made love,

letting you shave a part of innocence off of my life,

parts of my life that I will never get back,

using me for your own pleasure,

you selfish b*****d.

Here’s to all the times you completely disregarded me,

yet I still cared,

because I had brainwashed myself into thinking that you and I actually fit.

Here’s to all the times that I learned to say no,

finding the strength within me,

knowing that I deserve better than this,

finally letting you go.

Here’s to all the times that I learned to walk away,

preserving my pride,

loving myself for all the right reasons,

no longer stooping to your level.

And then you won’t have me anymore,

to use for your own personal pleasure,

because now I know better,

it took some time,

but without you in my life,

I know that I’m finally going to be okay.
