Our Lady

Our Lady

Our Lady

                                  Our Lady

An island made of a pile of stones thrown to the sea,

and old wooden ships sank around the sea cliff.

The church was built by God's servants as a gift to God.

As a protector of seamen on rough and distant seas,

Like a girl's hopes that her beloved one will stay alive at sea.

Thousands of sailing ships were chained in silver-like votive slabs

Thousand locks of maiden hair woven with a golden thread,

in sleepless nights embroidered in the image of Our Lady

Our Lady of the Rocks will answer the benevolent prayer.

Full sails to distant shores seamen!

Accompanied by waving white handkerchiefs from the shore.

Seamen stood on the bows and sterns with many thanks.

From the windows, they were followed by the tearful looks of their fiancées.
