Filmed in 8mm

Filmed in 8mm

A Poem by Doug

She’s filmed in 8mm.

It’s the inches

From a white medicine cabinet mirror

That makes me click it on.

Cat eyes finished

And streaked hair curled,

A perfume mist disappears

Against her winter pale neck.

In playback she’s a 60’s movie star

Before the red carpet walk.

It’s the late red eyed nights

That I watch it.

Tonight she’s almost here.

Tonight I let the film go longer.

Tonight I pretend she’s looking

At me again.

About
One night while I was asleep I had the words, "Veni, Vidi, Vici" repeating in my head. All night this happened. I want to somehow use this creatively. I feel like it was a sign to use it for some s.. more..
