She Doesnt Knock Anymore

She Doesnt Knock Anymore

A Poem by Doug

Tonight I keep the living room dark.

Only my green lamp

Glows in the corner

Against the off white walls.

I hope you’ll take me

In your warm arms.

I’m not strong enough tonight.

I need to let out deep sighs

While hearing your heart beat,

The rhythm sooths me.

Take away the thoughts in my head

With that so gentle touch

On my unshaven cheek.

We both like it when you

Wear my shirt.

Halfway into our Netflixed movie

You feel battles seeping out

In tears

Onto your soft hand.

You see they’re fighting

Through closed eyes

And you just slowly stroke

My week old beard.

About
One night while I was asleep I had the words, "Veni, Vidi, Vici" repeating in my head. All night this happened. I want to somehow use this creatively. I feel like it was a sign to use it for some s.. more..
