Clarity

Clarity

A Poem by Michael Alexander
"

Written at a time when I was troubled with negative thoughts of a thing that used to be.

"

I’ve never heard the rain fall as hard as it did this night.

Invasive thoughts fill my head with no reason in sight.

The darkness of the room is broken by flashes of light.

I tell myself this is wrong;  it just cannot be right.

Hoping for the storm to be gone, and the winds at a rest.

So many reasons for happiness. Then why so depressed?

Chaos please subside, I have no need for such stress.

Things once loved- are liked even less.

Torture and torment from living in the past.

It’s time to move forward and quit being last.

My eyes now heavy they close quite fast.

Limited expectations soon far surpassed.

I like the couplet style. You did well by transitioning it from visual imagery to something with much more meaning. great job :)
