Desire to be Content

Desire to be Content

A Poem by Laura Paxton

To have enough and nothing more,

Is to have what you need,

And not be consumed with greed.

To never want, never desire,

Always content.

Finding content, this may be tricky.

But always remember,

Happiness is the key.

You can’t have happiness if you want it,

Leave all your desire behind,

Don’t look back, move on

And happiness you will find.

To have more than enough,

You will never have enough.

Greed has consumed you,

Desire has become you,

And content has left you.
