"

a short story i wrote, it parallels my poem "kid you know just how to make em scream" i did it for a contest. lol i hope you enjoy.

"

He stepped up onto the stage. I'm sure he had a name, but I'm just not quite sure what it was. I do know one thing though; this kid has a shotgun voice.

I listened intently as the guitars kicked in, the drums following shortly after. I listened as the kid started screaming his lungs out. He chased it with a soft melody, and what a voice he had. He brought his emotions through the entire crowd. And, just when i thought that was it, there was something more, something grand. He dropped the mic, and clapped his hands. Everyone in the audience followed, they all did just what he said. I'm even rhyming now, like he's a voice in my head. I clapped in sync, the ambiance flowing through the room, i knew this song wouldn't end any time soon.

I could tell his vocal cords were screeching with destress. So, when it was all over, I approached him, water in hand. "Great show tonight, you know just how to make 'em scream."

"Thanks, but i'm tired of this scene, i'm done." he said, raspy.

"You can't stop now, the crowd's just getting started."
I took my stand. But it all ended too quickly. He left, with my water in his hand.
