A Poem by MirrorTree Productions
"

It started out as a freeverse poem. But, I decided to add a few choruses and turned it into a song. please tell me what you think about it.

"

The scent of dry, dark
roasted coffee beans
Chemical cleaning agents
and still life paintings.

The copper countertop creaks
under customers, carefree.

Quiet cold blue morning

Steal the sweet air from these lungs
her beauty is breathtaking!
The acoustic music goes silent.
Her voice;
Soft.
Delicate.
Vibrant.

"Good morning, dear"
She says to me.
A smile screaming into me
i stutter a reply
"hello, darling"
i must be dreaming
Brought you into being
i shutter, filled with fright.

Tonight, she lingers on.
Her scent, devestating, napalm
This movie, blank, boring
Excite me, stop my snoring.

Hold my hand
Reach into my lungs
Steal my breath again
i dont need it.
You're the life that i live on

"Good evening, dear"
She says to me
Courage bleeding into me
Heart flutters, close my eyes
i stutter my reply
"goodnight, darling"
Perfect ending
Your lips pressed to mine.

Author's Note

MirrorTree Productions
i took note from E.E. Cummings for this one. i didn't capitalize any "i" in the poem, representing the fact that i, someone so small in such a huge world, need no more recognization than what i have.
