A Fearless Dawn

A Fearless Dawn

A Poem by Michele

A Fearless Dawn

A sudden blow, the great wings beating still

Fear powered muscles, stroking valiant will

Blood tainted air, its rich scent warning

Heart racing faster, red sky announcing morning

Air like daggers, breaths seizing hold of life

Ice edged winds, thrusting on like a sailing knife

Cold aching limbs, driving harder, on and on

Night slipping away, wings quaking to a fearless dawn
