My death

My death

A Poem by Poppie Mira
"

You should be ready just in case, but none of us are

"

Is this an end to my story?

Did my heart complete writing my book?

Will my eyes searches more eternal days?

Am I prepared to fly home and

meet with the Great Judge?

My beloved,

are you ready to commit my frail body

to the dust of the field?

One of the interesting things about death is...that it is usually a surprise.
One thing's for sure, unlike religious fantasy, death is real and final.

It's true you don't ever know when you'll take your last breath. Only one person does, and it's the good man above.
My favorite lines are:

"Am I prepared to fly home and
meet with the Great Judge?" Some powerful lines which makes this poem much more beautiful and outstanding!
Excellent. :)

"Will my eyes searches more eternal days?" - "eyes searches" doesn't sound right but apart from that, this is good.

I agree with Neva - "Did my heart complete writing my book?" - a stunning line. More like this please :-)

Quite a definitive poem--dust to dust...
I do write religious fantasy, but am able to see it for what it is.
