Fullness

Fullness

A Poem by Poppie Mira

When no light pierces your dark

And your dawn is sunset

My child, have faith

When you feel hollow

And nobody is around to fill your hunger

My child, be full

When you seem so small

And everything around you is bigger

My child, be happy

When you shed endless tears

And no one to wipe them

My child, have hope

When love is lost

And your heart is scattered everywhere

My child, give more

When hate falls in your head

And enemy assails you

My child, make peace

When you are alone in exile

And no family to lean on

My child, God is present

Poppie, be rightfully proud about your poetry and your command of the English language! You are the equal of, and superior to, many college students in the writing courses that I've taken here in the States. Some of them could take lessons from you! It's interesting to see how similarly poetry is expressed by different cultures. My second language is Spanish and I hope someday, to write as well in Spanish as you do already in English. Incidentally: what is your first language exactly?
